Samsung announces Galaxy Golden Android flip phone

Just a week after Samsung introduced the Samsung Hennessy flip phone, the company has announced a new Android smartphone that sports the same clamshell design, the Galaxy Golden.

Like the Hennessy, the Golden features dual-displays but carries a larger 3.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 800 x 480. It also has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing.

Powering the device is a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz, 1GB of RAM, 1,820mAh battery, and Android 4.2 Jellybean with TouchWiz UI.

The Golden supports LTE connectivity and has a price tag of 799,700 South Korean Won or around Php31,000, which kinda makes you wonder if this is literally golden.

  1. how can that phone reach that price tag? doesn’t seem to make sense…

  2. srsly 1,820mAh battery? baka wala pang half day yan lol

  5. Im wondering kung ilang oras lang kaya kakayanin nyan sa ganyang battery…anyway the screen is not HD, baka makatagal din sya.

Will this turn the wheel? I mean oversaturated na kasi yung walang physical keyboard and baka bumalik na ulit sa trend na may keyboard.

  6. Naku!!! Ang mahal naman.
Pero papasa ba yan sa benchmarks?

    • Wala sa benchmark yan. Nasa users satisfaction yan. Bakit ba pamantayan ng mga users ngayon sa mga phone ay yung performance sa benchmark. benckmark is nothing. Basta nagagamit. Nakakatawag at nakakapagtext.

  7. Wala na sila may na isip ng ibang pangalan kaya Golden na lang para hindi naman obvious sa presyo. Talagang tataas ang lagnat ng buyers nito kapag dumating dito na Php 31K + tax

  8. Am waiting for abuzalzal’s comment.. hahaha, that grammar nazi perfectionist android fandick

  9. I was considering on buying this phone until I saw the estimate price tag T_T

Wow, for an old fashioned flip phone with specs like that, 19k-22k would be the best bet..

  10. ung specs parang pang-midrange smartphone but the price is that of a flagship device and much more. nakaka-highblood

  11. specs-to-price=fail
    design=fail
tsaka last one magmumukha kang tanga dito kahit katabi mo pa eh nakasamsung galaxy s3 lng hahaha aakalain nila na poor ka lng

  12. Does anyone know where I could get this in the Philippines?
