We recently got our hands on one of Samsung’s upcoming devices for the Philippines, the Galaxy J7 Pro. It’s the cousin of the Galaxy J7 (2017) with some differences. Let’s check it out in our first impressions below.

The Galaxy J7 Pro looks just like the Galaxy J7 (2017) that was recently announced. One the front, it has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, along with the earpiece and 13MP camera with LED flash placed just above it.

Down below are the physical home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner, and a couple of capacitive keys on its left and right side for navigation. Mounted on top of the whole thing is a scratch-resistant glass with curved edges.

Placed on its left side are the power/lock button and the loudspeaker.

While on the right are the volume buttons and a couple of trays that can accommodate two SIM cards and a microSD card, which is a good thing.

Down at the bottom, are the microphone, microUSB port (versus the USB-C on the J7 2017), and headset jack.

Flip it on its back and you’ll see the 13MP camera and LED flash. Also visible here are two antenna bands which actually looks good on the device as it gives character to an otherwise plain-looking back.

On the hand, the J7 Pro looks and feels premium thanks to its metal unibody design. Meaning when you hold, all you are touching is glass and metal. The rounded edges and corners also make it comfortable in the hands.

What’s missing on the J7 Pro though is splash-resistance which is a handy feature to have. The rest are similar such as the Exynos 7870 CPU, 3GB RAM, Android Nougat, and 3,600mAh battery.
