We’re live here in Berlin for the Samsung Unpacked 2013: Episode 2, days before the IFA opens on the 6th. Samsung has finally unveiled the new Galaxy Note 3.
Samsung bumped up most of the internal hardware while retaining the chassis size. The display is now at 5.7-inches but the width of the handset remained the same (same thing they did with the S4).
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 specs:
5.68-inch full HD Super AMOLED display @ 1920×1080 pixels, 388ppi
Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 2.265GHz quad-core
Adreno 330 Graphics
3GB RAM
32GB, 64GB internal storage
up to 64GB via microSD card
LTE Category 4 150Mbps
WiFi 802.11ac
Bluetooth 4.0
NFC
IR Blaster
GPS w/ aGPS support, GLONASS
13MP rear camera, BSI sensor
1080p @ 60fps
1.9MP front-facing camera
1080p video @ 30fps
3200mAh Li-Ion battery
8.3mm thin
168 grams
Android 4.3 Jellybean
Like the Galaxy S4, the Note 3 also comes with a 3G variant running a Samsung Exyos 5 Octa 1.9GHz dual quad-core (Note 3 SM-N9000).
The handset is available in classic white, jet black and blush pink leather colors. They also introduced a leather back-cover and did away with the old polycarbonate backplate.
Since the covers are still user-removable, there’s option to change the back-cover to other colors (10 color variants in all, including the standard 3 mentioned earlier).
One of the interesting features that was originally introduced in the Galaxy S4 was the Group Play. Now, with the Galaxy Note 3, the Group Play feature also includes video. You can basically play a single video and span them across multiple Galaxy Note 3 devices.
The new S Pen now features an Air Command where you hover the S Pen and you are showed a selection of actions.
Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Gear which is a companion device to the Note 3. It is worn like a watch but is a stand-alone device which can be paired with the Note 3 and the 2014 Galaxy Note 10.1 to provide extended functions.
Here’s a longer version of the video demo:
Global release is September 25 and should be available in all countries by October.

abuzalzal says:
Medyo underwhelming yung presentation tsaka yung product. Nothing earth-shattering here, just the expected spec bumps.
Phillip says:
A bigger Galaxy S 2??!! toink!
jed says:
ampangit
meh says:
its nice but its way too big for me to hold. Might just hold out for the next nexus
wafumet says:
Maganda po ba kapag leather yun back case same sa mga blackberries?
kami says:
ang Foxxy! ng Faux leather back cover.
im drooling. hahaha
DUTERTE says:
LG G2 already has that FLIPCOVER WITH SCREEN.. hmmmm sammy is really nothing but a 2nd grade copycat hahaha
Just some guy says:
Time to sell my iPhone 5!
pogs says:
impressive specs but… what? plactic din pati yung faux leather sa back cover? 0.o
Bino says:
FYI, it is using a USB 3.0 as charging and file transfer port, micro usb charger is now useless, unless they provide a converter. Panibagong charger na naman. Fail.
buckleboy says:
Nice specs but the design is overused and overplayed. Samsung should come up with a new design for their next line of smartphones because most people out their are tired of Samsung’s seemingly repetitive design.
Still getting one of these bad boys, anyway.
wew says:
this looks like a phone with built-in leather case when we look at the back lol, anyway mas maganda siya tignan kaysa sa mga naunang plastic ung likod kaso kailangan ata nito ng napakaingat na paggamit, tingin ko madaling masira ung leather back pag pinapatong mo lang kung saansaan tska di ba siya bastabasta magwewear out pag pasmado ung kamay? mukhang kailangan din nito ng case…
Miguel says:
Is true, they could change the design, but I guess that’s what make their gadgets recognizable!
I’m still wondering if I should buy this or the upcoming Z1… http://www.pricepanda.com.ph/sony-xperia-z1-pid1525090/
totoy brown says:
parang galaxy s4 lang to, para sakin mas ok parin s4 dito
zxc says:
This hardware + smaller form factor, maybe at 5in or 5.2in with minimal bezels, would be the perfect phone for me. Oh, hi there galaxy s5. :)
Vic Dul Loog says:
Hehehe….kakatuwa naman mga nag co comment dito. Well lets put it this way, the GN series is not really a fone for everybody. The S Pen puts an end to every debate. Hindi mo pwedeng i compare ang s4 sa GN3 and IPhone5, not even close. Clone? Copy cat? I dont think so. After a year of using GN di na ko babalim sa IOs. Hehehe
XTN says:
I cant help to ask but does the air gestures and smart motions in the s4 are also included in this note 3?
Dakkol T. Butok says:
Ok itong balitaktakan dito ah may abuzalzal at may wewe, wla bang meow hehe peace, I really like my kababayan pag nag uusap, open minded d madaling maasar kahit medyo askad na ng salita. Salute sa pinoy kahit na may pag ka abnoy!
HEforbids says:
Bakit po puro katangahan…
I just wonder why some comments (if not most) bear the word “TANGA”. What an expression of a professional! Not unless you really are not, which becomes obvious in your words.
This defeats the purpose of sharing comments to the actual issue. An expression of a real no-no, i suppose…

A great reminder…
