Samsung Galaxy S6 confirmed to have dual-edge display?

SamMobile confirms on its report that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 will have a variant sporting a dual-edge display — just like the Galaxy Note Edge but with the “edge” on both sides of the screen.

Just as the Galaxy Note has a Galaxy Note Edge variant, so will the Galaxy S6 with what SamMobile calls for now the Galaxy S6 Edge. It will reportedly run with the same system as the Note Edge bringing its functionalities to the new flagship.

So, it will have all the panels from the Note Edge including Yahoo! Finance, news and sport panels, briefing panel, pedometer panel (powered by S Health), favourite apps and contacts panels, and more will be downloadable from Samsung’s app store. Furthermore, it will also sport features like Night Clock and Express Me.

Thought it will share similarities with the Note Edge, the S6 Edge should also have unique features such as Glance Lighting that lights up the Edge upon receiving calls or notifications when the device is turned over, option to choose favorite contacts and assign a specific color code for them, and personalization on which Edge is the main panel (left or right depending on user’s preference).

This is not official as of now so we still need to take it with a pinch of salt, but with SamMobile’s track record there is a high chance of this to come to fruition. Stay tuned as more and more leaks are bound to surface in the following weeks.

  1. is this already their answer to their dwindling mobile division profits and the pressure from their bashers that they have boring designs?

  2. imagine this having only QHD display without extra more pixels dedicated for those curves..

  3. sino ang nananabik? Haha.. Benta nila ang s6 sa mas mababa sa php23k ang base model para bumalik ang benta nila. Bibili ako seryoso.

  4. Curved screen is no longer interesting since note edge came out. Wala ng feeling of surprise. Im still looking forward for a big upgrade on Samsung Galaxy flagship.
