Sony-Ericsson Xperia X2 Price: Php29,500

We also got more hands-on time with the Sony-Ericsson Xperia X2 during the Windows Phone press gathering today. Incidentally, the reps of SE Philippines also sent out word the other day that the device will be formally released on February 1, 2010.

The handset still runs Microsoft’s latest Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and got a bit of face-lift and upgrades:

xperia

3.2″ display @ 800×480 pixel
Qualcomm MSM 7200 528 MHz processor
HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps
110MB storage, 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
up to 16GB with microSD expansion slot
8MP camera with LED flash, AF and IS, WVGA @ 30fps video recording
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.1 w/A2DP
GPS with A-GPS support
TV-out
1500mAh Lithium Polymer battery
Windows Mobile 6.5

The Xperia X2 will have a retail price of Php29,500, way lower than the price of the Xperia X1 when it was launched back in 2008 for Php42,500 (See my review here. Disclosure: that handset was given to me by SE.).

Sony-Ericsson Philippines is doing a promo so you can get the unit for just Php28,500 if you reserve it before the release date (see details here).

  1. i think ill wait for the x10 instead.. how come they are launching two similar phones within a quarter? what is x2’s advantages over x10?

  2. Nexus One pa rin siguro… mas mura na mas malakas pa (hardware)…

    –to the poster
typo ata yung “formally released on February 1, 2009” baka 2010 hehehe

  3. Wow, that’s almost half the price of the X1. They released the X2 this early in the hopes of recovering after the not-so-stellar performance of the X1.

  4. I’d still get a motorola milestone than this for roughly the same price at HK. go android! :D

  5. too bad my friend who is a dealer dropped SE already.. bad after sales support.

  6. Not bad.. But still, I agree with the android guys. Haha!

  7. There goes my last kidney…Oh well. :)

Xperia X2 You will be mine! Nyahahaha!

  8. x10 is android x2 is windows. nexus one is better than x10. NEXUS ONE, I want one! hehe!

  9. milestone keyboard sucks big time based from the reviews

  10. I like the design, except the features. 29k? I think they should lower the price.

  11. It looks like SE k800 in the first picture, LOL! Deja Vu!

  12. A nice phone. :) If it were released earlier…

It’s specs seem lacking and not much has changed since the X1. Considering the SRP, Nexus 1 is cheaper and it packs a more powerful hardware.

Personally if I had 29k to spare, I would want to see x10’s release price first. If it’s manageable I’d add some more and purchase that instead.

    And there’s still the N1 to consider…

  13. x1 is more expensive than the x2 and x10. kung papipiliin ako sa tatlo yung x2 nalang. di ko maintindihan kung bakit mas mahal ung x1 kaysa sa lahat ng mga xperia series phones eh….. bakit nga ba mas mahal????
