Sony has quietly unlocked several of its major PC titles in countries where PlayStation Network (PSN) isn’t officially supported (including the Philippines).

Following the success of Stellar Blade on Steam, which became available in non-PSN regions after direct developer intervention, more Sony-published games are now accessible without the need for workarounds.
According to data from SteamDB, the region locks have been lifted for the following titles:
- God of War Ragnarök
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered
- Spider-Man 2
- Helldivers 2
- Horizon Zero Dawn (previously available in some regions, now more broadly accessible)
This change is a welcome move for Filipino players and others in Southeast Asia who previously had to rely on VPNs. The update also comes just ahead of Steam’s upcoming sale on June 26.
While Sony hasn’t issued an official statement, the timing suggests the company is responding to both community backlash and the growing demand for its titles on PC.
Earlier this year, Helldivers 2 became a hot topic after Sony attempted to require a PSN login even in regions where PSN wasn’t available. The move led to a wave of criticism and refund requests, eventually pushing Sony to reverse the decision and delist the game temporarily in unsupported countries.
However, not all titles are fully unlocked. Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut remains restricted in some regions, likely due to its Legends multiplayer mode requiring PSN integration.
Additionally, Steam still blocks access to Sony games in seven countries: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, and Vietnam. Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine and Vietnam’s 2024 ban on Steam over licensing issues are likely reasons for the continued block.
