The International Data Corporation (IDC) has recently released its Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, which shows the top smartphone brands in the Philippines for Q2 2022. Among them is vivo.
According to IDC’s report, vivo recorded a 335.4% QoQ increase in its shipments despite the industry’s overall decrease in QoQ smartphone shipment. This gives vivo a 10.7% market share for the quarter.
As for other brands, realme has a 21.8%, Transsion (Infinix, Tecno, Itel) has 20.5%, Xiaomi has 14.6%, and Samsung at 11.8%.
vivo said that the significant market comeback can be owed to the company’s new entry models: the Y15s and Y15a, the mid-range T-series, and its ZEISS-powered flagship X80 series.
In addition, its partnership with relevant brands and events such as the PUBG Turbo Cup Challenge, a mobile eSports championship, helped vivo penetrate the highly competitive mobile gaming market.
vivo said that it’s slated to launch a few more smartphones for the remainder of the year.
