Listen to article

vivo Philippines has sent us a press release which technically confirms the surrounding leaks about its next flagship series—the vivo X100.

The press release in question outlines the expected specifications of the vivo X100. It is therefore reasonable to presume that the “leaked” details have some truth to them.

Vivo X100 Fi

For starters, the vivo X100 will boast the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, which Qualcomm hasn’t outed yet. But it surely accounts as a successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen2, which belongs to flagship line of chipsets. Additionally, it will offer up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage.

Moving onto its display, it is expected to be a curved screen with a higher-than-usual resolution at 2K.

For the cameras, the primary camera will have a “one-inch newly coated glass-plastic hybrid”. And there will also be a “ultra-high-pixel large-bottomed” periscope telephoto lens. We can also expect ZEISS-tuned camera system in here.

For security, it will feature an under-display fingerprint sensor. While the battery detail only says ‘high capacity’, it is said to support a blazing fast 120W wired charging rate. It will also be complemented with 50W wireless charging.

The document tantalizingly hints at the release window and specific models of the vivo X100 series. However, it suggests that eager fans may have to exercise a little more patience before getting their hands on these highly anticipated devices.

The top-spec model, vivo X100 Pro+, is expected to debut in early 2024. Meanwhile, both the vivo X100 Pro and its base model are ‘confirmed’ to launch by the end of this year.

Aside all these info, there was also the mention of “black technology”. And it just left us confused yet curious as to whatever that means. We should learn more about the vivo X100 in the upcoming months. Stay tuned!
