vivo has revealed official images of its upcoming foldable phone, the vivo X Fold5, which is set to launch in China on June 25.
According to vivo, they will break their own records with the X Fold5. It is expected to weigh around 209 grams, which is lighter than the vivo X Fold3 at 219 grams. Reports also mention that the phone will be 4.3mm thick when unfolded and 9.3mm when folded, making it one of the thinnest foldables around.
The main highlight of the phone is its battery, rated at a whopping 6,000mAh. This makes it one if not the only foldable that ships with the largest battery found in a foldable device.
As expected, the foldable uses a new silicon-carbon anode and semi-solid-state battery tech. This allows it to function even in temperatures as low as -30°C and be more efficient than the typical tech.
Additionally, the vivo X Fold5 will offer triple protection, with water resistance rated at IPX8 and IPX9, dust resistance at IP5X, and it can operate in temperatures as low as -20°C.
For optics, the phone will include a periscope telephoto lens capable of both long zoom and close-up macro shots. vivo says it also supports full-focus portraits for a more flexible camera experience.
Another standout feature is its Apple ecosystem support. The X Fold5 reportedly has the ability to connect with Apple Watch, AirPods, iPhone calls, messages, and even iCloud.
