Xiaomi Mi A1’s Android Oreo Beta Enables Fast Charging Feature

Listen to article

Xiaomi Mi A1 is the company’s first Android One device which runs in near stock builds of Android. After weeks of beta testing, Xiaomi began rolling out another beta update to a select group of users. The update adds many typical Android Oreo features such as picture-in-picture mode, Autofill API, and more, but it also adds an unexpected feature on its third beta and that is fast charging.

A report from Telecomtalk claims that with the new Android 8.0 Oreo update, the Xiaomi Mi A1 charges much quicker than it used to while running Android 7.1 Nougat. Tthe user charged the phone with a OnePlus charger and the phone went from zero to a hundred percent in 92 minutes while earlier it used to take over two hours. The update also made app loading much quicker and animations are much smoother.

As for the official rollout, Xiaomi has promised that the update will be ready by the end of 2017, so it should be released within this week.

A great phone. Bought mine from Lazada for P9999 with free earphone last 12.12 sale. Will recommend it to everyone. Problem is just finding case and protector that is not online.
