Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Hands-On

Xiaomi recently unwrapped its latest mid-range smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi  CC9 Pro. It’s the Chinese version of the Mi Note 10 and features a five-camera system which includes a 108MP shooter. Check out our initial thoughts below.

Once held, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro has an exquisite feel to it. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects both the front and rear of the device, with an aluminum frame sandwiched in between them. The smartphone is a bit thick and hefty, which can be attributed to its massive battery capacity and the five camera lenses. Our unit here comes in Ice Aurora color, but it is also available in Magic Green and Phantom Black.

Located on the top left of the Mi Cc9 Pro is its highlight, the penta camera setup, comprised of 108MP + 12MP + 20MP + 5MP + 2MP lenses. The main camera module is quite a big bump, making the smartphone wobble when set on a flat surface.

Upfront, we get a 6.47-inch display that has curved edges and a drop notch on top. Interestingly enough, even with curved edges, the slim bezels are still noticeable.

The drop notch houses the 32MP front camera. Placed above is the call speaker.

On the right, one can find the volume rocker and the power button on the upper part, while the dual SIM tray sits closer to the bottom.

The left side of the smartphone is bare with nothing on it. It does give us a better look at the curved edges of the smartphone, and its thin side bezel.

Situated at the top are a noise-canceling microphone and an IR blaster.

Housed at the bottom are the downward-firing speaker, primary microphone, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio port.

The Mi CC9 Pro is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, paired with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a massive 5,260mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It runs on MIUI 10, based on Android 9 Pie. We’ll be spending a few days with this smartphone, so stay tuned for our full review.
