Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Hands-on, Benchmarks, Camera Samples

Following the launch of the Redmi Note 10 in March and the Redmi Note 10 Pro in April, Xiaomi has released another member of the Redmi Note 10 series, the Redmi Note 10 5G. Thinking of buying this smartphone? Check out our hands-on below.

Out of the box, we can immediately tell that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G is a sleek and attractive device. It’s mostly plastic but the finish makes it look like it’s made of metal and glass. The sides are curved while the top and bottom have ridges.

At 161.81mm it’s a relatively tall device, but narrow at 75.34mm. It measures 8.92mm at its thickest point but feels slim. It’s easy to grip and feels solid. The unit we have on hand is the Graphite Gray, but it is also offered in Chrome Silver, Nighttime Blue, and Aurora Green.

On the front is the 6.5-inch IPS screen with FHD+ resolution or 405ppi and a 90Hz refresh rate. For protection, it has Gorilla Glass 3 and came with a screen protector pre-installed.

It uses a hole punch for its 8MP front camera, and right above it is the earpiece. Sadly, it’s not a secondary speaker.

Up top, we have the IR blaster and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Down at the bottom are the main microphone, USB-C port, and loudspeaker.

On the right, there’s the volume rocker and power/lock button that also works as a fingerprint scanner. The buttons are clicky, solid, and easy to reach.

On the left is the card tray for two nano-sized SIMs and a microSD card via the second slot.

Flip it on its back and you will see the camera module that houses the triple-rear cameras, LED flash, and AF sensors. You will also notice from this side the Redmi branding and the back panel that looks like frosted glass. It looks great but still a smudge and fingerprint magnet, so you might want to use the case included in the package.

You can check out some of the camera samples below. We’ll provide more in our full review.

Powering the Redmi Note 10 5G is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC with a 2.2GHz octa-core CPU and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Our unit has the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. For the software, it runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11. It also has a 5,000mAh battery with support for fast charging. Check out the benchmark scores below:

• AnTuTu v8 – 257,914
• PC Mark – 8,195 (Work 3.0)
• Geekbench 5 – 553 (Single-Core), 1,679 (Multi-Core), 1,341 (OpenCL)
• AndroBench – 932.67 MB/s (Seq. Read), 407. 67 MB/s (Seq. Write)
• 3D Mark – Unavailable

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G is priced at PHP 9,990 for the 4GB + 128GB variant, and PHP 11,490 for the 8GB + 128GB. That’s a bang for your buck 5G smartphone right there. Stay tuned for our full review.
