Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A now official with 16MP front camera
Xiaomi now joins the selfie game with the introduction of their new Redmi Note 5A smartphone, equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera and Android Nougat skinned with the company’s proprietary MIUI software.
The Chinese company’s own take on the selfie smartphone, and battling home turf rivals OPPO and Vivo in the process, involves using a 16-megapixel sensor with a f/2.0 aperture for better selfies taken in low-light scenarios. There will be three colors available: Champagne Gold, Platinum Silver Gray, and Rose Gold.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is now available in China in three configurations of different price points: a base model with 2GB RAM (internal storage unknown) will be selling for CNY699 (roughly Php5,400), while the 3GB+32GB and beefier 4GB+64GB variants will be sold for CNY899 (about Php8,000 before taxes and other fees) and CNY1,199 (around Php9,300).
