A malicious app was discovered by a Cybersecurity company on the Google Play Store. The app steals Login credentials to gain access to their data, like your credit cards, conversations, searches and many more.

Pradeo, the Cybersecurity company, discovered that it uses social engineering techniques to steal data and connect it to a Russian server. So far 100,000 users have this app but Google already removed it from the Play store.

Craftsart Cartoon Photo Tools is the name of the app and it is disguised as a legitimate photo-editing application. Based on Pradeo, the developer of the app put a small bit of code that eludes the Google Store’s protection. Furthermore, it contains the Facestealer Trojan Android malware.

The way of stealing your app is straightforward, the user opens the app, it displays a Facebook login page that prevents them from using it unless they enter their username and password. entered, the hackers will receive this information automatically.

If you still have this app, uninstall it right now then change your Facebook password immediately and turn on your 2-factor authentication for added protection.
