The upcoming Apple Watch Series 8 is reportedly going to have a body temperature sensor so that users are warned when they have a fever.
Though the Series 8 won’t be able to give accurate readings, it may send a notification that prompts users to go see a doctor or use a dedicated thermometer. In a feature last June 2021, Mark Gurman also reports that this highlight is likely to arrive with the 2022 wearable lineup.
Gurman also claims that the other changes to the Series 8 will seem trivial compared to this. He does also claim that the new
Series 8 will contain the same processing power as its
predecessor but would feature an upgraded display.
Though there have been rumours of heart rate or body temperature monitoring features, he debunks these claiming, “I’m told that neither feature is likely to arrive in the 2022 upgrade, though both enhancements have been explored inside the company and could arrive one day,” he says.
We are quite interested to see how this would be implemented should the feature come out in the Apple Watch Series 8. No other vital information was brought upon but we’ll keep you updated on any other developments.
