Budget-friendly POCO C61 debuts in India

POCO is no stranger to building budget-friendly smartphones. Most of the smartphones offered by the brand are affordable but also well-packaged in terms of specs and features. This time, they’ve launched another new affordable model – the POCO C61.

Interestingly, the specs on the Poco C61 are similar to that of another phone launched earlier this year – the Redmi A3. The POCO C61 features a 6.71-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

The design of the display is a bit dated, featuring a waterdrop notch at the top for the front selfie camera. For protection, it does come with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood, the Poco C61 uses a Helio G36 chipset and is available with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. As for storage, you can pick between 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded by a microSD slot.

At the back, you get a minimalist design with large camera housing featuring a dual camera setup. The main camera is an 8MP AI shooter paired with an auxiliary lens and an LED flash.

Meanwhile, you get a 5,000 mAh battery as standard with support for 10W charging. The Poco C61 runs on Android 14 and also comes with a side fingerprint reader.

In India, the POCO C61 starts at INR 7,499 or roughly PHP 5,000 for the 4+64GB variant. There’s no word yet whether this ultra-budget smartphone will be sold in the Philippines. But, do you think Poco should offer it locally?
