Facebook announces the official opening of Manila office

Facebook has announced that it has officially opened its office in Manila, Philippines to strengthen the company’s investments and commitment in the country.

According to Facebook, Southeast Asia (SEA) is the fastest growing region for Facebook with the Philippines among the world’s heaviest users of social media at more than 49 million people – 44 million of them accessing Facebook on mobile.

With its presence in the Philippines, Facebook aims to help businesses connect to Filipino users. The company says that there are more than 32 million Filipinos on Facebook that are connected to a business Page and that 95% of people in the Philippines on Facebook discover new products and brands on the platform.

Facebook also announced that it has appointed Digs Dimagiba to serve as Head of Philippines for Facebook. He will lead the local business team that will partner with businesses and agencies to help them utilize Facebook’s solutions.
