French bank allows Money Transfer via Tweet

Groupe BPCE, France’s second largest banking institution, will start to roll out money transfers for its customers via a Twitter. Customers will be able to send money with a single tweet sometime this week as part of a trial run.

The person-to-person money transfer will also allow BPCE customers to remit any amount to another person even if the recipient uses a different bank.

The process only requires a single tweet and does not need any banking details.

@BPCE: SEND €2,890 TO @yugatech. This is a sample tweet to transfer money.

This payment channel may require Twitter users to add bank details into their Twitter profile in order to receive the money accordingly.

BPCE is France’s second largest bank, formed by the 2009 merger of CNCE and BFBP, has more than 8,200 branches nationwide under their respective brand names serving nearly 40 million customers.
