At the first-ever AI-siders Assembly, Google revealed five ways to make use of NotebookLM. The workshop demonstrated how the tool can change how students and creators do research while producing content.

The session highlighted how generative AI was adopted in learning, particularly among Gen Zs in the APAC region. To cut it short, the tool can process documents, audio, and video, then generate summaries and insights.
NotebookLM is designed for students, researchers, and creators who need to work through large amounts of data. The session showed how it can complement Gemini and other Google AI tools.
Here are five use cases below. Interested readers can check out NotebookLM today to try the new tips out!
NotebookLM can generate bite-sized summaries of long documents, saving time and helping users focus on key points. Notes and questions can also be added, while its chat function provides referenced answers from uploaded sources.
The Audio Overview feature converts research into podcast-style narration, making it easier to review while commuting or multitasking.
Its Mind Map feature builds visual charts connecting themes and subtopics across uploaded materials, helping identify relationships between ideas.
For study prep, NotebookLM can automatically generate quizzes and flashcards from sources, useful for exams or presentations.
Finally, Video Overview turns research into short narrated clips, allowing quick content creation or sharing.
Google says the AI-siders Assembly will continue as a regional workshop series in APAC to showcase the role of AI in learning and content creation.
