GrabBayanihan Car for healthcare workers, now available

The ride-hailing services app, Grab, launches a specialized fleet for healthcare workers. Dubbed as the GrabBayanihan Car, the program transports healthcare workers to and from the company’s partner hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities.

With 400 volunteer drivers, the service only accepts one healthcare worker as a passenger. To ensure the safety of both drivers and passengers, each GrabBayanihan car is equipped with a non-permeable, acetate barrier, disinfectants, and masks. Vehicles are required to undergo daily deep disinfection at sanitation hubs assigned by Grab. The company also assures that each driver has undergone hygiene and infection prevention training before deployment.

Apart from the free personal protective equipment such as masks and disinfectants, the GrabBayanihan partner-drivers are provided with monthly hospital assistance, MedPadala allowance, one prepaid HMO health care card, and life insurance. They also get fully-subsidized vehicle disinfection and unlimited consultation in Family Doc clinics from Grab. To serve more healthcare workers, GrabBayanihan drivers receive guaranteed earnings with a reduced commission from Grab for a minimum of eight hours service rendered.

Although available from 5 AM to 10 PM daily, the GrabBayanihan cars are prohibited in receiving bookings outside the program in order to reduce the risk of contamination.

To avail the GrabBayanihan service, hospital administrators will need to register on this site.
