HMD Global, the company that holds the license to the Nokia brand, is back with a new Nokia 200 Series lineup of feature phones for 2024. This year’s lineup embraces a trio of colorful options: the Nokia 215 4G, 225 4G, and 235 4G.
All three phones boast 4G connectivity, a feature increasingly important even in the basic phone market. The phones also support dual SIM functionality.
The 215 4G and 235 4G sport slightly larger 2.8-inch screens, while the 225 4G opts for a more compact 2.4-inch display. All displays share a QVGA resolution.
Under the hood, a Unisoc T107 processor keeps things ticking, and the user interface relies on the simple S30+ operating system. Camera options vary across the range: the 215 4G skips one altogether, the 225 4G packs a basic VGA shooter, and the 235 4G steps it up with a 2MP sensor.
Despite their throwback aesthetic, these phones aren’t completely stuck in the past. Bluetooth 5.0 ensures seamless pairing with wireless headsets, and a 3.5mm headphone jack caters to those who prefer wired options.
The biggest surprise is the inclusion of USB Type-C ports, a welcome upgrade over the dated microUSB standard.
HMD promises long battery life with a 1450mAh removable battery in each phone. They claim this translates to up to 9.8 hours of talk time on a single charge.
These phones aren’t just about calls and texts. HMD throws in “Cloud Apps” that provide access to news, weather, and even YouTube Shorts, keeping users connected to essential information and bite-sized entertainment.
