A few days ago, Huawei debuted its latest flagship smartphones, the P40 series, running on the EMUI 10.1. The brand’s software division shares more information about the EMUI 10.1’s key features and future plans for its update.
As an upgrade from its predecessor, the EMUI 10.1 brings in a number of new features. The list includes:
Polishing the Multi-Window where it allows pressing controls, replying to messages, floating windows, and dragging files from one app to another without leaving the active screen.
Multi-Device Control Panel for easier management and control of connected nearby and IoT devices such as smart home appliances.
Huawei’s new personal and interactive voice assistant, Celia, can be summoned by either pressing the power button or by telling “Hey, Celia”. The Chinese smartphone brand gives a hint that Celia can identify objects, measure food calories, and do face-to-face translation. It is scheduled to roll out first on select Western countries.
Multi-Screen Collaboration links supported Huawei smartphone and a Huawei MateBook laptop together. Ideal for sharing important files and receiving and taking video calls, this feature lets the users navigate their phone handsfree through their laptops.
The brand also introduces its own video conferencing app, the Huawei MeeTime, integrated on the EMUI 10.1-powered Huawei phones. It provides up to 1080p video quality, optimizes low-light environments and Wi-Fi connectivity, and supports screen-sharing and third-party devices wirelessly.
Huawei aims to roll out the EMUI 10.1 to its previous P-Series and Mate Series models between mid to late April 2020.
