Listen to article

The HUAWEI Watch Ultimate 2 is now official with a few key upgrades compared to last year’s model. Its highlights include improvements to durability, health tracking, and connectivity.

The watch boasts a zirconium-based liquid metal case with dual-tone nanocrystal ceramic bezels. Display-wise, it has a 1.5-inch LTPO2 AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits.

The watch is also rated at 20ATM water resistance (EN13319, ISO 22810:2010), allowing for dives up to 150 meters. This is 50 meters more than last year’s Watch Ultimate.

In addition, this is also the first smartwatch to support underwater sonar communication. It has preset messages and emoticons enabled within a 30-meter radius and has an SOS function working up to 60 meters.

The watch also leverages a gap antenna system for better connectivity. It also supports dual-band GPS (and Beidou satellite messaging in China).

It’s rated for up to 4.5 days of battery life with regular use and 11 days on power saver mode. The watch will run on HarmonyOS 5.1 with eSIM support, on-device calling, and music playback.

For health tracking, it features Huawei’s TruSense system with an X-tap sensor. It delivers quick readings across 11 health metrics, including ECG.

Huawei is bringing a gap antenna system for more seamless connectivity in extreme conditions. The battery is rated at up to 4.5 days of regular usage and 11 days in power-saver mode.

The HUAWEI Watch Ultimate 2 comes in Compass Black and Ocean Blue colorways. Pricing starts at EUR 899 (~PHP 60K) in black and EUR 999 (~PHP 67K) in blue.

There’s no word yet on Philippine availability and pricing conversions but we’ll keep readers posted.
