Huawei XMAGE new image technology, now official

Huawei is now using a new mobile camera image technology called Huawei XMAGE after the brand’s breakup with Leica.

Under this new brand, Huawei will be launching a number of new image technologies especially those products related to mobile cameras.

Based on Huawei, they’ve learned and achieved a lot during its partnership with Leica, telling everyone that both parties benefited from each other. A said testament to this is the launching of the Huawei P9, P10, P20 series and one of the known flagship phones of Huawei is the Huawei P30 Pro.

XMAGE will be focusing on 3 fields such as optical system, imaging technology, and image processing.

Included in the optical system are these technologies such as multi-camera systems, periscope telephoto, free-form surface lenses, and many more.

In terms of Image technology, it has YYB super-sensitive sensor, full-pixel octa-core focusing, 10-channel multispectral sensor, hyperspectral imaging, and many more.

With Image processing, it’ll include AI photography, real-time HDR fusion, XD Fusion Pro computational photography, XD Optics computational optics, and other technologies.

We may see the XMAGE in action soon thanks to the next generation of flagship phones of Huawei, the Huawei Mate 50 series which is reported to be featuring the XMAGE imaging technology.
