LG Electronics Inc. might shut down its mobile business instead of selling it according to a report.
Korean website DongA, citing an unnamed source, reported that LG is considering shutting down its mobile business instead of selling it as talks with Germany’s Volkswagen AG and Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC on a possible sale seem to have failed.
LG was also reported to put on hold the release of its future devices including its new smartphone with a rollable display.
The company might also share its decision with its employees as early as April, said the report.
