Listen to article

The M7 World Championship has set a new viewership record after drawing over 3.6 million peak viewers during its Swiss Stage, with the Knockout Stage now set to begin.

According to data from Esports Charts, the Swiss Stage reached a peak of 3,627,103 concurrent viewers, making it the most-watched stage before a Knockout Phase in M Series history. The record was set during the match between Indonesia’s ONIC ID and Team Falcons, showing strong global interest in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports.

The Swiss Stage format, first introduced in the previous M Series, was designed to make matches more balanced and competitive. This year’s results surpassed last year’s M6 Swiss Stage peak of 2.5 million viewers and doubled the numbers seen in older Group Stage formats. Earlier in the tournament, the M7 Wild Card also broke records with over 447,000 peak viewers.

The growth reflects MLBB’s expanding global audience. In 2025, MLBB became the most-watched mobile esports title worldwide. The M7 also marked stronger commercial support, with international brands like Red Bull and Visa joining as partners. Alongside MLBB, the Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) tournament was introduced, adding another competitive title to the M Series ecosystem.

From January 18, the top eight teams will move on to the Knockout Stage, where they will compete for a USD 1 million prize pool and the world championship title. The event is being held in Indonesia, a country known for having one of the most active MLBB fan bases.

Meanwhile, the first MCGG World Championship, called GO1, will hold its Grand Finals on January 25, sharing the spotlight with the M7 Grand Finals. Both events are part of the M7 Carnival, a three-day celebration featuring esports matches, live performances, fan activities, and giveaways.

With the biggest matches still ahead, the M7 World Championship is expected to draw even higher viewership in the days to come.
