Microsoft files patent to turn person’s data into chatbot

Listen to article

Microsft has recently applied a patent that develops a conversational chatbot of a person.

As spotted on the US Patent website, the tech giant is developing a chatbot that allows the use of social data for creating an interactive chatbot based on a specific person’s personality.

The social data that Microsoft pertains to include digital images, voice recordings, social media posts, electronic messages, written letters, and more. The company will then create a personality index from the gathered social data which may be used to train the chatbot and interact under the perspective of a person.

One or more conversational APIs may be used to reply to question which is not provided from the social data. The technology may also generate a 2D or 3D model of a specific person. This may come in form of images or videos.

“In some aspects, a voice font of the specific person may be generated using recordings and sound data related to the specific person,” the patent stated.

The patent was filed last December 1, 2020.
