Xiaomi confirmed to be holding a launch event tomorrow in China, August 11 and will be announcing its next foldable, the Mix Fold 2, along with Redmi K50 Extreme Edition (rumored as K50S Pro), Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, and a couple of wearables, the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro TWS and the Watch S1 Pro.
Starting with its foldable, CEO Lei Jun revealed that the new Mix Fold 2 will only measure at 5.4mm thickness when unfolded and about 11.4mm when folded including the camera module. The team behind it has spent nearly two years in simplifying its hinge mechanism—made with advanced materials that made it 35% lighter and slimmer by 25%—and reducing its component count.
There’s also the ‘micro waterdrop’ design on the hinge to minimize crease (as seen below on the right).

The foldable is expected to have a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 SoC, and a 4,500mAh battery with 67W charging rate.
Next is the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition which is said to have a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 200MP main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging rate.
