MWC 2024: HONOR launches Magic 6 Pro

HONOR has launched the Magic 6 Pro, their latest flagship smartphone at the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Spain. This comes after a lot of anticipation, initially debuting the HONOR Magic 6 series 19 in China.

The Magic 6 Pro sports a 6.8-inch OLED display at 2800 x 1280 with a refresh rate of 120Hz. HONOR also claims that the device has a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. It’s also powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

It has a triple-camera setup built into the device’s circular camera bump. It consists of a 50MP main camera with an adjustable aperture setting between f/1.4 and f/2.0, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 180MP periscope with up to 2.5X optical zoom.

It also features a 5,600mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging and 66W for wireless charging. The flagship phone also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

HONOR also noted plans for its new flagship release through AI-centric features. This consists of AI-powered eye-tracking, able to intuitively understand if users are looking at notifications or applications. They discussed opening relevant apps without the physical need to tap it.

HONOR calls this the ‘Magic Capsule’, which is situated on the Dynamic Island-style interface at the top of the phone’s screen.

Other features consist of ‘Magic Portal’, which presumably allows AI to understand events and addresses. This information will be used to link the details with corresponding maps or calendar apps.

HONOR mentioned developing an AI video generator through the use of users’ photos and text prompts. HONOR claims for this generator to be able to process videos on-device with its MagicLM technology.

The HONOR Magic 6 Pro is ready to retail for around USD 1,407 (PHP 78,925.28), with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. We’ll let you know if any further development was made with the HONOR Magic 6 series release in the Philippines.

Well, the portfolio of scriptwriting, web content, and public relations help too, we suppose. As a homebody, he often spends his time on the streaming platform Twitch or ‘farming’ gaming clips with friends. He is also an avid fan of round glasses and anything relative to blueberries.
