ZTE’s first foldable phone, the nubia Flip 5G took center stage at its global debut in MWC Barcelona. It boasts a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a 6.9-inch foldable OLED display, and 4310mAh battery with 33W wired charging.
At the rear sees a circular camera module design enclosing a 1.43-inch AMOLED cover screen. This houses a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel sensor.
It’s in a ‘flip’ form factor and features a dual-rail suspended hinge that’s able to withstand over 200,000 unfolds, as ZTE claims.

Price and availability
As previously reported, this new ZTE foldable is apparently the global version of the ZTE Libero Flip 14 that launched in Japan. However, the nubia Flip 5G’s global pricing is significantly higher than the current sale of its Japan version, starting at USD 599. That’s approximately PHP 33.6K in today’s exchange.
The ZTE Libero Flip costs only USD 420 (~PHP 23.5K) and is claimed to go as low as USD 265 (~PHP 14.8K). The nubia Flip 5G is also pricier than the currently most affordable foldable in the country, the TECNO Phantom V Flip 5G 112 which had an intro price of PHP 23,999.
ZTE has yet to reveal its availability details and we shall still see if the price goes lower in its Philippine launch sooner or later.
