According to Insider Gaming, game developers will be able to submit their games and software for certification by Sony’s Platform Certification & Operations team starting at the end of July 2024.

Furthermore, any games released after September 15, 2024, must be optimized for the PS5 Pro. This timeline hints at a potential launch of the PS5 Pro before the year’s end, although it’s important to note that these details don’t guarantee a Q4 2024 release.

This new information aligns with earlier rumors suggesting a holiday 2024 release. While Sony has yet to officially confirm the existence of the PS5 Pro, the company is expected to make an official announcement about it in September.

Other speculations point to the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which Sony is said to be joining for the first time in five years. Insider Gaming says that Sony could announce the PS5 Pro earlier in September and might be at the show to introduce the upcoming console’s features.

Leaked specifications of the PS5 Pro hints significant upgrades over its predecessor. It is expected to feature the same 8-core AMD Zen 2 processor but with a clock speed of up to 3.85GHz, providing a notable performance boost.

Additionally, it will sport a new RDNA 3 graphics chip with 30 WGPs and 16GB of GDDR6 RAM, with a 28% increase in bandwidth, up to 576Gbps.
