NTC requests Netflix to manage streaming bitrate to help free-up bandwidth

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) recently Netflix to effectively and efficiently manage its streaming bitrate to help free-up bandwidth in the country during its Enhanced Community Quarantine.

The NTC says that the “measure will help free-up bandwidth as the increased demand by subscribers may risk overloading network capacity during the quarantine period. Data consumption is expected to surge due to the work from home arrangements as well as increased government, private and education demands.”

Netflix has agreed to the measure and developed a way to reduce traffic on telecommunications networks by 25% while maintaining the quality of service for the next 30 days. The video-streaming giant also added that consumers will continue to get the quality that comes with their plan (Ultra-High, High, Standard Definition).

NTC you should close pornhub, it does nothing good, netflix is pale in comparison with free pornhub if you want to spare huge chunk of bandwith!
