PLDT: slow internet caused by cut fiber optic cables

PLDT has issued a statement saying that its subscribers may experience slow or no internet connection due to cut cables.

According to ABS-CBN News, PLDT said in a statement on Thursday that fiber optic transmission cables were cut by “civil works of a third party in Alabang,” causing internet connection problems in some areas of Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, and Laguna. Customers in Mindanao may also experience problems as internet links to the region were also partially cut.

PLDT has then issued an apology and vowed to immediately restore connections.

lingid sa kaalaman ng nakararami… sindayang pahirapan sa pagtawag sa kanilang service hotline 171 at 172 simula alas-7 hanggang alas-2 dahil maraming magrereport ng problema at qualified for a rebate. Ang ginawa ng PLDT inayos lang nila yung kanilang queueing 15-minutes bago maayos yung connection para ang rebate nung mga affected customers at 15 minutes lang. WAIS talaga ang PLDT.
