Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon 865, 765 processors

At the Annual Snapdragon Tech Summit, Qualcomm unveiled its upcoming processors, the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765. Both chipsets are part of the company’s plan of making 5G technology more accessible in 2020.

Qualcomm will be launching the Snapdragon 865 as its upcoming flagship processor. The chipset includes the Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF system. On the other hand, the mid-range 765/765G processors introduced will have 5G integrated into them.

Qualcomm also unveiled that the first flagship handsets to feature Snapdragon 865 will be the Xiaomi Mi 10 and an unnamed device by OPPO that’s set to launch in Q1 2020. HMD Global also announced that its future Nokia devices will come with Snapdragon 765. Meanwhile, Motorola also confirmed that its future smartphones will use either SD865 or SD765.

Of Qualcomm’s 5G plans, Qualcomm Incorporated President Cristiano Amon stated:

5G will open new and exciting opportunities to connect, compute, and communicate in ways we’ve yet to imagine and we are happy to be a key player driving the adoption of 5G around the world. Our Snapdragon 5G mobile platforms announced today will continue to show leadership in the industry and deliver on the promise of scaling 5G in 2020.
