Reddit to add support for Filipino language

Listen to article

Reddit is slated to add support for the Filipino language. The news comes from Reddit’s development of rolling out machine-based translations to several countries. In other words, Reddit will be able to use automated translation to localize text based on user preferences.

For example, users who mainly speak in Filipino can leverage this to participate in discussions on subreddits in another language. The platform itself doesn’t have language restrictions. However, this change will certainly help bridge conversations between users of varying languages.

Should Filipino users have an interest in Japanese or Korean discussions, the new feature will certainly come in handy. The Philippines’ use of the platform was highlighted by the r/Philippines subreddit. Surprisingly, this saw a lot of Filipinos interacting with different users.

The new feature should help in bringing up Reddit as a solid platform for inquiries, conversations, and news.
