Samsung unveils Family Hub at CES 2020

Samsung unveiled its latest edition of the Family Hub refrigerator at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, in Las Vegas.

The Family Hub is a smart, AI-powered refrigerator. Inside the fridge, it sports AI cameras that have image recognition that automatically scanning the products inside, identifies them, and sends the users updates on which items have been added or depleted. Additionally, it has technology from Whisk, a food AI startup recently acquired by Samsung NEXT. Whisk aids in the Meal Planning feature by basing on the food inventory or the user’s shopping list.

The fridge also has a Family Board, a virtual bulletin board that supports video clips, songs, images, a SmartView feature that connects Samsung TVs and Samsung mobile devices. The Family Hub also allows users to control and manage their smart homes through the SmartThings widget.

Samsung’s Family Hub will be available by spring in the US.
