Smart announced that its planned “enhancement” of their Php2USD 0.03INR 3EUR 0.03CNY 0.25 per MB has been moved to January 2018 instead of the original target of November 28 (see original story here).
We are enhancing our pay-per-use data billing model of Php 5USD 0.09INR 7EUR 0.08CNY 0.62 for every 15 minutes of data consumed to Php 2USD 0.03INR 3EUR 0.03CNY 0.25 for every 1MB consumed. With this enhancement, we will be able to better serve you and your data needs. Please read below to know the new benefits, features, and change in postpaid experience — Effective November 28, 2017
The change of the effectivity rate was made after customers complained of the new pricing. Smart added that the extension of the effectivity will allow customers to better understand their data usage.
The implementation of the P2/MB regular data rate has been moved to JANUARY 2018 to give our customers enough time to understand and maximize their data usage options. As of today, our default rate for data is still P5 per 15 minutes. Thank you!
Once the Php2USD 0.03INR 3EUR 0.03CNY 0.25 per MB becomes effective, your mobile data will be automatically deactivated unless you subscribe to a mobile data promo or activate the new Php2USD 0.03INR 3EUR 0.03CNY 0.25 per MB pricing. You can learn more about it here.

Overpricing. If you forgot to enable load protect or have GIGA or Surf max plans. Ang 300 prepaid load mo will be gone in an hour. 1MB is will load one graphics heavy web page!
Hope they will defer it indefinitely, not until the first of 2018.
Newbies to cellphones, yes, they exist… Will have their load be consumed before they learn their lesson…
