Sony Alpha 7R (A7R) IV 61MP full-frame mirrorless camera announced

Sony has just announced a new member of the Alpha 7R series of full-frame mirrorless cameras, the Alpha 7R (A7R) IV.

The A7R IV has a 35mm full-frame 61MP back-illuminated R CMOS image sensor with the latest-generation BIONZ X image processor. It has a 5.67 million dot UXGA OLED Tru-Finder electronic viewfinder, 567 focal-plane phase-detection AF points, 425 contrast points, and 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivities. The camera is capable of high-speed continuous shooting at up to 10fps with full AF/AE tracking, 4K movie recording, HD recording up to 120fps, slow and quick motion functions, super 35mm mode, S-Log 2, S-Log 3, and Touch Tracking functionality. The A7R IV also has a Multi Interface Shoe to connect shotgun microphones.

The camera is also capable of wireless LAN functionality with 2.4GHz band support, 5GHz support, wireless PC remote connectivity, and equipped with USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 1). It also supports FTP transfer and can be connected to Sony’s Imaging Edge application on both desktop and mobile. Other features include dust and moisture resistance, multi-selector joystick, and two UHS-II compatible media slots.

Priced at USD 3,500 (~PHP 179,254), the new Alpha 7R (A7R) IV will be available by September 2019 in the US.
