Sony launched the Xperia 10 VII with Pixel-like 50MP camera and 4 years OS upgrades

Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia 10 VII, a mid-range smartphone that brings notable upgrades over its predecessor while sticking to Sony’s signature compact form factor.

The Xperia 10 VII sports a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a smoother 120Hz refresh rate, a welcome boost for media consumption and gaming. Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. A 5,000mAh battery powers the device, backed by Sony’s careful charging tech to maximize long-term health.

For cameras, Sony is going Pixel-like with a 50MP wide sensor capable of 2x optical zoom, alongside a 13MP ultra-wide and 12MP telephoto lens. Selfies are handled by an 8MP front shooter. The phone ships with Android 15 and promises four major OS upgrades plus six years of security patches, making it one of the most future-proof midrangers around.

Other highlights include stereo front-facing speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and IP68 water resistance. Priced at €449 (PHP 29.8K), the Xperia 10 VII comes in White, Turquoise, and Charcoal Black, with availability details yet to be confirmed.

  1. Fingerprint scanner is side mounted. Most probably capacitive and not ultrasonic.
