vivo is gearing up to launch the vivo Y500 in China, and it’s already making headlines for packing the largest battery ever on a vivo smartphone. According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the device will house an 8,200mAh cell, surpassing the Y300’s 6,500mAh and only second to the HONOR X70’s 8,300mAh in the mainstream market.

The leak also confirms that the Y500 will run on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with a flat 120Hz AMOLED display. Vivo teased the device last week, revealing a circular camera module and a tough build, but has yet to confirm further specs officially. Reports also hint at an IP68-rated body, making it resistant to dust and water, something rarely seen in the Y-series.
If true, the Y500 would mark a big leap over its predecessor, the vivo Y300, which featured a smaller 6,500mAh battery, Dimensity 6300, and 44W charging. While charging speed details for the Y500 remain unclear, the giant battery alone positions it as a potential battery king in its segment.
vivo hasn’t announced the launch date yet, but with teasers already rolling out, the Y500 is expected to debut in China soon.
