vivo has confirmed that it will introduce the Y500 Pro later this year, bringing a major camera upgrade to its mid-range Y series lineup. The announcement follows the recent debut of the standard vivo Y500 in China, which launched with a massive 8,200mAh battery.

According to vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao, the Y500 Pro will feature a 200MP rear camera, making it the first device in the Y series to do so. The sensor in use will be Samsung’s ISOCELL HP5, a 1/1.56-inch unit paired with an f/1.88 aperture lens, promising enhanced detail and low-light performance compared to the regular model’s 50MP + 2MP dual setup.
While vivo has yet to share additional hardware details, the Y500 Pro is expected to retain much of the core DNA of the Y500, which comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, OriginOS 5, an IP69 rating, and a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The vivo Y500 Pro is set to be officially unveiled before the end of 2025.
