Xiaomi has finally pulled the curtain on its newest flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, together with a special Leica Edition, during a launch event in China. This release also marks a big step forward in Xiaomi and Leica’s partnership. From simple joint development, the two brands are now working under a “Strategic Co-creation Model,” meaning Leica has been involved deeply from planning to final output. The goal? Better mobile photography backed by Leica’s century-old optical heritage.
Up front, the phone features a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 3500 nits brightness, plus HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, a great combo for media and gaming. It’s also Xiaomi’s thinnest Ultra ever at just 8.29mm, wrapped in a clean, flat design and offered in Black, White, Cool Smoke Purple, and Starry Green.
For cameras, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra packs a 50MP 1-inch main sensor, 50MP ultra-wide, and a 200MP Leica telephoto with true 75–100mm optical zoom and APO certification for sharper shots. Powering everything is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, cooled by Xiaomi’s upgraded IceLoop system. A 6800mAh battery supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The Leica Edition stands out with a premium dual-texture finish, Leica red-dot badge, and a physical Master Zoom Ring for camera-like control. The price starts at CNY 6,999 ( PHP 58,553.22), with sales beginning on December 27.
