Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest smart cleaning device in China — the
Mijia M40S Robot Vacuum and Mop — bringing flagship-grade features like strong suction power, automatic mop lifting, and a self-cleaning base at an aggressive price point.

The Mijia M40S is equipped with a 5,100Pa suction motor, capable of deep-cleaning various floor types including carpets and tiles. It also features a floating rubber brush designed to reduce hair tangling, ideal for homes with pets.

For mopping, the robot comes with a rotating mop module that supports auto mop lifting when carpets are detected, and hot air drying after cleaning to prevent bacteria buildup and odor.

The device is paired with a base station that includes self-cleaning and drying, a water tank, and a dust bin, minimizing manual maintenance. Xiaomi claims the system can handle up to 75 days of hands-free cleaning.

Navigation is handled via LDS laser sensors, allowing smart mapping and efficient path planning. Users can control the M40S through the Mi Home app, where they can schedule cleanings, set virtual boundaries, and more.

Xiaomi Mijia M40S – Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Mijia M40S is currently available in China with a launch price of CNY 2,299 (PHP 17,587.84). While there’s no word yet on international availability, Xiaomi has a track record of bringing its Mijia products to global markets under different branding.

Stay tuned for updates in case this device lands in the Philippines.
