With the chaos that ensued over at ZTE‘s sale yesterday about the Php10,000USD 170INR 14,446EUR 162CNY 1,241 discount on its Grand X2 L phablet, the company has released an official statement that addresses the people who exerted effort going to their kiosks and concept stores only to go home disappointed.
Their statement reads:
Thank you so much for the overwhelming support for the ZTE Mobile Sales Promo.
We appreciate the efforts made by the thousands who went to our kiosks and concept store yesterday. We did not expect such an overflow of interested buyers, hence the shortage. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Truly, we made a mistake in underestimating the response and we appeal for your understanding and compassion. As a responsible organization, we are finding ways to address the concerns of those who painstakingly queued to enjoy the offer yet went home disappointed.
As we are humbled by the reception the public has given our campaign, together with MSI-ECS, our distributor, we are committing ourselves to coming up with better initiatives, more aggressive promotions and up to date mobile devices that will benefit more Filipinos in the coming days.
Again, our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment we have caused.

” We did not expect such an overflow of interested buyers, hence the shortage.” – a Big BS!
Emmy says:
what a company? you would advertise a deal that is too good to be true and then when this happens, all you have to say is sorry???? glad i’ve read the feedback about the phone and didn’t bother to go.
Easy E says:
Bad karma is on its way to ZTE.
lolwut says:
Hindi nyo ba nagets? Marketing stunt lang lahat ng ito, noh. Sa dami ng smartphone company dito sa Pilipinas, what better way to get noticed kundi gumawa ng gimmick. I pity those people who were too naive to fall for this old trick.
rocketlog says:
Don’t get me wrong, I agree na mali ang approach nila sa pagmungkahe nung sale, kasi medyo overhyped at hindi sinabi na limited to such a low number ang units.
Nagpunta ako dun sa LG Optimus sale a few years back, by the way. And I don’t hate LG for it. Everyone makes mistakes. Pero syempre, it’s your right kung gusto nyong gawing personal crusade ang pag-boycott ng ZTE products dahil sa nangyaring ito.
RaM says:
LOLZ
ron says:
people were mad because there were no stocks even prior to 2pm. here southmall mga tiga southmall tenants na pumasok ng maaga ang binigyan nila ng stubs para mareserve yun unit. zte can’t you get it? people won’t buy your products dahil may mas magandang brands.
Boom says:
Dear ZTE,
Sorry your face! Wag kayo mag-assume na gusto talaga nila yung unit na yan kaya sila nagkandarapa pumila dahil they’ll go for other brands kung regular price ang offer niyo! I’m wondering tuloy if may bibili nyang unit na yan for 11k. Haha
tarush says:
Big companies don’t want their sale to be announced by Yugatech if they don’y have enough stocks
Dina Nadala says:
ano may new sale ba? mag rearedy na ako!
archie says:

I symphatize with those who went through all that and came up with nothing. But the thing is this has happened before. Hopefully next time all manufacturing companies would be responsible in advertising sales and promos. And the actual event should be at the least go smoothy. This should serve as a wake up call to all of us to be very and I mean very critical if we really want something. Certainly zte got its undeserved publicity throwing a sucker punch. Just kinda shows what a company it is, a government we have and a people we are.
Yuj says:
I agree about sa point na partly to blame din yung mga nagpauto. Ever wondered why walang ganyang sale ang Samsung or Sony or Apple?
Honestly pinagisipan ko ding pumunta sa SM Fairview for that kasi malapit lang ako dun. I honestly did not expect na magiging magulo. Kaso I checked the reviews of that phone and I immediately realized na hindi worth it kaya di na ko nagpunta.
alligator kap says:
Yun na nga eh. Bang for the buck doesnt always have a positive result. There will always be compromises. Better go for quality and a reasonable price point rather than going all out for super cheap sales.
kingzyke says:
Dapat kasi yung DTI nagbabantay sa mga stunts na eto. smart learned thier lesson they specified the number of stocks available sa isang sale nila, was it followed I dont know pero at least may idea yung mga tao. dami na masyadong ganito nangyayari. consumer protection naman dyan.
jeets says:
wow, when nokia thru electroworld and abenson had 70% sale on 1520, nobody cares. Then this happened, everyone loses their minds xD
Prof says:
ZTE didn’t resolve the issue at all and had no plan to make good its statement based on its press release!
They cared less and preferred losing would-be customers who were not able to buy during the promo.
manangjuana says:
Who wrote the press release? Looks like a rookie in the marketing team wrote this.
They underestimated the turn out? I say, fire the whole marketing team.

Mga tanga kayo
Rainbow Rat says:
May Sale na naman today ang ZTE. I am sure that history will repeat itself at meron diyan na hindi na nadadala na babalik pa din para pumila at masawi..
parang pagibig lang.. minsan puro paasa. hehehe
fce says:
Again, sorry for the inconvenience we have caused blah, blah, blah. The person who wrote the ad was on crack and have forgotten about the ‘limited quantity intended for sale’.
If you truly believed that we will sell all of our stock for that model for P10K discount, then you are all on crack !! (Nobody gives away something for nothing or less. Remember that)
We made a mistake, you’ll got screwed.
But the past is the past. We can not change the past, and can only apologize……
Yours truly,
TZE

Naniwala naman kasi kayo sa post ni yuga eh paid post din naman yung article nila about the sale. Walang fine print na nakalagay na limited stocks sila.
androikfreak says:

princess says:
hindi ba, sa ZTE scam din ginamit ‘yung “i am sorry” statement ni bansot? some things never change, i guess?
