Asus Eee Pad becomes official

So Asus officially unveiled today their very own version of a tablet/slate PC, called the Eee Pad, powered by an Intel Core 2 ULV and Windows 7.

The 12-incher Eee Pad (EP121) is the power powerful model but Asus is also showing the 10-inch model (EP101TC) with a much lower specs and runs Windows Embedded Compact 7.

Expect the EP121 to work like your regular CULV ultraportable notebook (something similar to the Asus UL20) minus the keyboard and trackpad. However, there are options for a hybrid keyboard/docking station.

Asus added that these Eee Pads should be able to bring in about 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. Still no word when these slate PCs will be released or how much they will cost.

Engadget has a complete set of photos in the gallery here.

  1. Hope sir abe can make the full review of this Asus EEE pad…

  2. im getting this one when available in the local market.

  3. Looks way better than that other slate. :D I hope it is cheaper.

  4. I suppose it supports Adobe Flash? If it does, many would probably buy it just to play Farmville. Hehehe!

  5. Windows Embedded Compact 7? Is that a cross between a Windows Phone OS and a Windows 7 Starter?

  6. isa pang kalaban nang iPad na yan….sana mabilis yan kaysa iPad

  7. Windows CE 7??? sana Android OS na lang? but on the demoed video @engadget >> it looks fast enough maybe not yet ready to compete for the other Slate device who’d just announced as of today it’s 2 Million sales within the past 60days :D

  8. nice.. another one.. bites the dust!!! :) hehehe…

  9. i think yung best part nito is the sensitivity to input. pwede na tong replacement halos for wacom tablets (for the artists in us).

  10. ^
For the bamboo line.. maybe for the intuos line, can’t see a tablet PC with something as sensitive as the intuos 4.

  11. This is good. The same as ipad. I wonder what’s its pleasing feature that surpass the ipad.

  12. Woah. CULV and 10 hours of batt life? S**t just got real.

  13. Hope it can play games like COD Modern Warfare2. If it does I’ll definitely buy one. Can’t wait to see reviews.

  14. Can’t wait to get a new HP Slate, it looks great!

  15. Wow, can’t wait to get one! I’m excited for the windows 7 mobile experience. I hope it’s actually worth the wait. I doubt it’ll play CoD any day but other than that, the features are great!

  16. Yuga, wala pa rin bang update sa article na ito kung kailan ma-release ang product na ito dito sa Pilipinas at kung magkano?

  17. @Edwin C
i heard that some other small shop already selling but the funny part is i think other shop selling it like 70k-90k for what is very funny but if i am not mistaken this will be release this Jan or Late March so just wait with the update. and the price they started at $1000 so more or like 43k-50k but for sure the price in PH will be 70k below or more. if i can suggest try searching Yuga Review Acer Aspire 1551 on other site they mention 3G capability and HUWAI Tech like Globe tattoo smart or sun broadban so almost same as this Cool thing but a price of 23k – 25k in PC Gilmore Manila. There are Two type of this Laptop
    1 is with Processor K325 1.3Ghz
    2 is with Processor K625 1.5Ghz
in comparison almost same and the ram you can upgrade up to 4GB
