So it looks like the Asus S101 isn’t the slimmest of the Eee PC line anymore. Asustek has announced a new netbook, the Asus Eee PC 1008HA (dubbed the Seashell) which it claims is only 1″ thin at its base.
Based on the photos below, this model of the Eee PC looks like the old MSI Wind U100.
The specs haven’t been fully revealed but UMPCPortal shares some tiny bit of info — 92% of standard keyboard size, 1.1kg weight, multi-touch touchpad, 1.3MP webcam, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3.75G and WiMax. Not sure what that 3.75G really means but most likely it’s just higher speed HSDPA (3.5G).
The 1-inch thick netbook doesn’t sound “ultraslim” to me considering that many other netbooks are within the 1″ range, including the earlier S101. Unless they can come up with lower than 1″ netbooks (say .7″ like the MacAir), they should hold up on using the ultraslim label or else they’ll run out of words later on.

This is cool if the price is also cool. I expect to have more choices and cheaper price as we approach the 2nd half of the year. I hope there’s more competition ahead so that we, the consumers would get more feature at a more affordable prices.

@calvin
I might try that too =) How do you go about it? Do I need to change my personal shipping address to the ones in the States or do I have to ask someone to make the order for me?
Thanks!
calvin says:
@israel
change your shipping address na lang if you have a relative there. 6% off pa rin so better hurry. :)

One more thing I would like to talk about is that as opposed to trying to suit all your online degree courses on times that you conclude work (considering that people are fatigued when they get home), try to receive most of your instructional classes on the saturdays and sundays and only one or two courses for weekdays, even if it means taking some time away from your saturdays. This is beneficial because on the weekends, you will be a lot more rested plus concentrated upon school work. Thx for the different guidelines I have discovered from your web site.
