HP TouchPad is a webOS tablet

Listen to article

Aside from the two webOS smartphones that HP announced yesterday, they’ve also finally worked out a 9.7″ webOS tablet called HP TouchPad.

HP TouchPad
9.7″ display @ 1024×768 pixels
Dual-core Snapdragon APQ8060 1.2GHz processor
Adreno 220 graphics processor
512MB RAM
16GB and 32GB internal storage
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1
1.3MP camera
GPS w/ aGPS support
webOS 3.0

Qualcomm claims that their dual-core SnapDragon CPU can handle display up to 1080p stereoscopic 3D video (or output 3D video on an external display via a mini-HDMI port).

If you own another webOS device like the HP Pre, the TouchPad has some sort of synchronization features too — like tap the handset and the tablet together and the URL from the phone will sync with the tablet instantly. All other data will be duplicated as long as you’re logged in to your account (much like Android when used with your Google account).

Accessories like a desk-stand comes with the tablet plus option for a Bluetooth keyboard is also available.

Much like Apple’s iPad, the HP TouchPad will be offered in WiFi-only with WiFi+3G and WiFi+4G models in the future. No word on pricing information though.

This Device can work super great with the HP Pre 3,
Being able to do messenging (Text) or Calls while syncing your Pre 3 with the HP TouchPad

I do hope the WebOS will become popular also so that its a win win for all the consumers

Wait mode if the HP products will be a big hit here in our country

Apple won’t sit back, for sure they got something up their sleeve for the April Event.

iPad 2 what have you got that will make us buy again rather than switch?

Heavy specifications are not enough… They need to attract more developers to create applications to be able to compete with Android and IPad.

Web OS is totally different from Palm OS. I’ve used this in Pre and Pre Plus. Putting it on a tablet, or PCs in the future is really great. The best OS for me so far. True multi-tasking OS.

WebOS is indeed smooth. and neater than the android. Ang ganda ng “card multi-tasking” system niya. Before it was taunted to kill Ipad, kaso kinulang sa support ang Palm. Ang disadvantage siguro nito against iOS and Android eh lack of apps.

Search niyo sa Youtube yung reviews sa Webos. Very impressive IMO.

WebOS is a Palm OS. Makes sense with the HP-Palm merger (or acquisition?) Some predicts that the HP touchpad will stand toe to toe with the XOOM and the upcoming ipad2, we’ll just have to wait and see. This will depend on the apps coming to WebOS. Pretty gutsy move for HP if you ask me.

Magkaka-android version din po ba itong HP TouchPad? I’m sure kung magkaroon man baka hindi hamak na mas mura iyon kaysa sa may webOS.
