Microsoft announces Windows 10 launch date

We’ve previously reported of an unofficial date of availability for the brand-spanking-new Windows 10 OS. Today Microsoft officially made their announcement and it’s actually sooner than we first thought.

The release date is now pegged at July 29, 2015.

Familiar, yet better than ever, Windows 10 brings back the Start menu you know and love. Windows 10 is faster than ever before, with quick startup and resume. And Windows 10 provides the most secure platform ever, including Windows Defender for free anti-malware protection, and being the only platform with a commitment to deliver free ongoing security updates for the supported lifetime of the device.

The company also mentions that this new update is designed to be compatible with your current Windows device and applications, although the initial release will be fore PC and tablets only. Additionally, Windows users may reserve the free upgrade by following a reservation process.
