Sony has recently announced a high-precision Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver LSIs to be equipped in its future IoT and wearable devices.

The latest receiver LSIs give a more stable, more improve high-precision tracking even under difficult conditions. Sony claims that its latest hardware has the lowest power consumption for dual-band positioning at only 9mW.  The new signal method also supports both L1 and L5 GHz band, with the latter giving support to dual-band positioning for more stable connectivity. It also has a  built-in non-volatile memory for storing firmware.

Devices equipped with the latest LSIs will be able to deliver quick and accurate positioning time even when the reception changes in an environment. It has increased its signal power from 0.6 to 2 Db and employs signal units that are 10 times narrower for measurement between GNSS satellite and receiver.

It supports Galileo, BeiDou, GLONASS, QZSS, SBAS, and NavIC satellite systems.

The new generation of  LSIs will be equipped most likely on future wearables, trackers, and other IoT products.
