Toshiba Satellite E200 Special Edition

Listen to article

We recently got this Toshiba Satellite E200 Special Edition laptop from Intel which runs their Core i5 processor. I actually have 2 other review laptops running Core i5 right now but another one wouldn’t hurt.

Of the 3 Core i5 laptops I’m using now, the Satellite E200 by Toshiba is getting the most hands-on time.

Toshiba Satellite E200 Special Edition
Intel Core i5 520M @ 2.4GHz (2 cores, 4 threads)
4GB Dual-Channel DDR3 RAM
NVidia GeForce 310M 512MB RAM
500GB SATA HDD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1
HDMI port
eSATA port
2 x USB 2.0 ports
5-in-1 card reader
6-cell Li-Ion battery
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

The Satellite E200 also comes with a slot-loading DVD+RW drive we don’t normally see in regular laptops (although it’s a staple on all MacBooks).

The unit has a nice back-lit keyboard with a very stylish design that reminds me of that Sony Vaio E we reviewed earlier.

Don’t have the exact local price of the Toshiba Satellite E200 Special Edition but it’s listed at $1,489 in the US. Watch out for the full review soon.

Is this the one in Sapphire Blue? It’s Php75,000 and available in 0% interest for 6 mos. This is so gorgeous but I ended up buying the Sony Vaio VPCF115FG as it was on sale in Hong Kong. Probably cheaper in HK or Sing.

Looks sweet. Will be waiting for the review. Hopefully, slot-loading DVD drives would soon become the standard in notebooks.
